When I was a kid, I found a bottle at the sea shore with a note in it. This filled me with wonder and excitement by the fact this bottle was dropped into the sea, the fantastic and fantastically huge sea. Then it found its way around the world to this beach. Of course, the message itself was disappointing. “If found write to this address.” Still maybe I could write an actual message and launch it into the ocean. Maybe I did I can’t remember. Then came the litter boom and it was frowned upon to do such things. Then came along the internet an ocean of an entire different nature. Blogs are like bottles. You type your message in and send it off to circumnavigate the world-wide-waters. When someone searches for something its like finding a bottle especially if they were originally looking for it. Still, it’s not so easy finding these “bottles” amongst the clutter and debris of lives swirling around in the internet. Of course, there are thousands upon thousands of us throwing bottles into the digital ocean. So choose your words carefully because they have to affect somebody in someway. |
