My 1st Album: Rare Air

I get a number of surveys through facebook now and then and one of then was what was your first album that you bought on your own. I can't remember what I pull down but I know what it is… now. Sometime in the early to mid eighties when I was about seven or eight I guess maybe eight or nine. We went to the University Of Maryland to see a band called "Rare Air" kind of like a Gaelic, Scottish, Indy band. It was a four man group and of mixed heritage. Scottish, Chinese, Korean and they played with two bagpipes, acoustic guitar and drums. They were an energetic band very vibrant and produced a wall of sound akin to the punk bands of the time only it was less noise and more textured. It so effected me I begged my pops to give the money to buy the album. I did all by mine self. I still have that album and I think I like it even more today then I when I bought it. Of course like most things i like after one more album they reformed and started making elevator jazz.....auuuuh!
